Glitch in the Copy investigates the effects of copying and glitches in relation to jewellery. A year-long exploration into copying, repetition, malfunctions and digitalisation through the process of creating, copying, and reproducing specific jewellery pieces. When an object is copied, it acquires ‘noise’ or generational distortion. Glitch in the Copy takes its inspiration from a fascination with this distortion.
I have focused on two main creative points:
1. Research through physical production and experimentation.
2. Historical research into the tradition of copying, digital reproduction and glitches.
Culture and history have a great deal to do with how a copy is seen or experienced. By pairing a historical focus with a creative physical routine, my goal has been to understand the concept of copy and glitches in a robust and interesting format.
Glitch in the copy undersöker effekterna av reproducering och malfunktioner i relation till smycken.
