A Design Exploration on the Ambiguous
Is it orange or is it red?
From our first years in life, we learn to interpret our sensory input by cross-referencing our senses. Thereby not only is our reality created but also our preconceptions on how it is supposed to be.
By looking into perception, I realised how capricious it is; the way we perceive the world is built up by assumptions and these assumptions lead to generalisations around the experience and use of objects, thus norms and values are created.
I want to show with my designs that there are different ways of experiencing the world. These designs have more than one reality and I hope that they will evoke conversations on how we view and experience objects.

Är det orange eller är det rött?
Vi lär oss att tolka och jämföra sinnesintryck redan under våra första år i livet. På så sätt skapas inte bara vår verklighetsuppfattning utan även föreställningar av hur saker och ting är.
När jag tittade närmare på hur vår perception fungerar insåg jag hur godtycklig den är. Vår uppfattning av världen baseras på antaganden, antaganden som leder till generaliseringar av upplevelser och användandet av objekt. Generaliseringar som i sin tur leder till normer och värderingar.
Jag vill med mina objekt visa på olika sätt att uppleva världen på. Dessa objekt har mer än en verklighet och jag hoppas att de kommer att leda till konversationer om hur vi ser på och upplever olika objekt.
