Seventh-wave Feminism
Christine Langinauer’s final project is an exploration of the future projected and perceived from our own time. Looking back at the year 2017 from a hundred years ahead the project takes as its departure point the political discussions of today in Langinauer’s native country Finland from a feminist perspective. The focus is on how the things we do now shape the future. Perhaps by the year 2117 we have reached Seventh-wave feminism, the last wave of the feminist struggles where we will finally be strong enough to overcome all forms of oppression!
The project is presented as a publication to which Langinauer has invited artists and writers to react around possible scenarios/the theme through their own medium.
