What does a space encourage? What makes us interact with architecture and feel peace, playfulness and an urge to discover? What makes us quickly forget the problems and thoughts spinning in our heads, to instead be in the present, in the body, in the architecture? Is it possible? I imagine the feeling of wonder is in a room’s atmosphere, or in the relationship between body, room, furniture, architecture, context and the imagination. When the boundaries are blurred, the rules for how to behave also dissolve. You have to discover the space yourself and create your own rules.
Vad uppmuntrar en rumslighet till? Vad får oss att interagera med arkitektur och känna lugn, lekfullhet och upptäckarlusta? Vad får oss att snabbt glömma alla problem och tankar som snurrar i våra huvuden för att istället vara i nuet, i kroppen och i arkitekturen? Går det? Jag tänker mig att det lustfyllda finns i mellanrummet, eller i förhållandet mellan kroppen, rummet, möbeln, arkitekturen, platsen och fantasin. När gränserna suddas ut mellan vad som är vad upplöses även reglerna för hur du skall bete dig. Du måste själv upptäcka rummet och skapa dina egna regler.
