A clay animation is projected 1:1 onto the physical surface that emerged in tandem— the depicted is illuminated with the depicted. An indexical relation arises, a trace of something that has existed in a given place, at a given time.
Vertical movements constantly mirror each other, a flow with the beam of the projector as a conductor, maybe even a spectator of its own projection? A beam that is too bright to allow an encounter on equal terms.
I’m repeating myself (again). I remake a pattern with every new thought and each time it is slightly different. The act of animation is a series of repetitions with dislocation. The body becomes a tool in a choreography that with every iteration contributes something — draws the map.
By regarding the work as a system or a framework, I want to see if the work can become an actor. A system that mirrors the room, the animation, the projector, and maybe you?
En leranimation projiceras 1:1 på den fysiska ytan som uppstod i tandem – det avbildade belyses med det avbildade. En indexikal relation uppstår, ett spår att något har existerat på en given plats på en given tid.
Vertikala rörelser speglar kontinuerligt varandra, ett flöde med projektorns stråle som en dirigent, kanske rent av en betraktare av sin egen projicering? En stråle för klar för att den ska kunna mötas på lika villkor.
Jag upprepar mig (igen). Jag omskapar mönster gång på gång och för varje ny tanke blir det något annorlunda. Animationsakten är en serie av upprepning med förskjutning. Kroppen blir ett verktyg i en koreografi som för varje iteration tillför något – ritar kartan.
Genom att betrakta verket som ett system eller en inramning vill jag se om verket kan bli en aktör. Ett system som speglar rummet, animationen, projektorn, och kanske dig?
