Heteronormativity
– It is still present
Heteronormativity is one of the strongest norms in our society. Heteronormativity is a given truth hard to break. These pieces of art jewellery explore the relationship between heteronormativity and those who do not fit in because of their gender, sexuality or identity. It allows them to take space and queer bodies to become visible. People outside the heteronorm are still affected. They need to find strength within themselves.
The objects approach this from four different aspects: Desire, Activism, Owning and Adjusting.

Heteronormen är en av samhällets starkaste normer, och därmed skapas en självklarhet som är svår att ifrågasätta. Smyckesgestaltningarna utforskar relationen mellan heteronormen och de som inte passar in på grund av genus, sexualitet eller identitet. De synliggör queerandet av dessa kroppar och låter dem ta plats. De som står utanför heteronormen behöver förhålla sig till den och hitta stryka i sig själva.
Smyckena visar detta från fyra olika aspekter: Begär, Kamp, Ägande och Möte.
